Collaboration

The Leioa Gastro+KOM project is a collaboration between the Leioa Culinary School, the Multimedia and Transmedia Storytelling students from the Journalism degree, and students from the Advertising and Public Relations degree.  The Advertising and Public Relations students have developed a concept board, crafted slogans, designed promotional materials, and created the marmalade packaging. The Leioa Culinary School has overseen the entire marmalade-making process, from initial preparation to final production. Meanwhile, the Multimedia and Transmedia Storytelling students have produced, edited, and curated the video, photography, and digital content on a website dedicated to this project.

This project has required a lot of collaboration, and all these different students have worked together to continue with the success of the previous edition. The hard work of the Leioa Culinary school, the Advertising students, and finally the outstanding job done by the Multimedia and Transmedia Storytelling class allowed this website to become real with the supervision of Prof. Ana Mendieta to help promote the wonderful town of Leioa along with introducing the red pepper to more people!

A Great Collaboration

Discover how the Journalism and Advertising students have collaborated with the City of Leioa to create a tourism promotion campaign. To achieve this, they have successfully overcome a variety of creative and technical challenges. In the case of the website created by the Journalism students, there has been a joint work between students from the Basque Country and Cantabria with students from 10 other countries: Germany, Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, United States, Netherlands, Hungary, Ireland, Poland and Ukraine. Watch this 8-minute video and discover how this project has come true.

Ana Mendieta, Journalism professor; Libe Lombraña, Advertising professor; Finn Humberg, Journalism student from Germany; Roos Geerlink, Journalism student from the Netherlands; Irati Garcia and Liher Cano, Advertising students; and Ana Irene del Valle, Dean of the School of Social Sciences and Communication, report their experience in this collaborative project.
